The Perfect Brunch - Throw a great brunch with these quick tips and delicious recipes from
I Can't Believe It's Not Butter®
Brunch is the perfect meal for entertaining. It’s a casual, no-fuss, come-as-you-are weekend event that’s appropriate from mid-morning to late afternoon.
Plan It
Planning ahead is the secret to every successful party. The guest list will affect the tone of your gathering, so determining who’s coming is the first order of business. Do you want to include just your family? A few friends from the neighborhood? The girls? Keep it simple by keeping the invite list small.
If it’s nice enough, plan to eat outdoors but be prepared with a back-up plan in the weather doesn’t cooperate. All it takes for a nice meal outside is a tablecloth over your picnic table, some colorful china, and drinks like OJ and iced tea served in pitchers.
Bake It
Your best bet for brunch is to serve a casserole. They typically contain all the elements of a meal – protein, starch, and fruits or vegetables. Casseroles can also be made up to a day ahead of time, freeing you to take care of all those last-minute details the day of.
Most casseroles actually turn out better when you make them in advance, because it allows the flavors to meld together. If you are going to make your casserole early, note that a topping should not be added until you are ready to bake it (it’ll get soggy) and you may need to add a few minutes to the cooking time. Set It Up
It’s a good idea to shop, cook, and set up as much as you can at least one day in advance. Make your menu, look at your recipes, and write a list before hitting the grocery store. This ensures you won’t forget any ingredients. Things to stock up on include fruit salad, juice, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, and

to spread on muffins, scones, or toast.
Be sure you have enough chairs, dishes, flatware, glasses, and napkins to serve all your guests. To save money, ask to borrow any extras you need from friends and family. If you plan on eating outside, put all your tableware in one place so when it comes time to set up you aren’t scrambling around trying to find that serving spoon or another napkin. If you’ll be enjoying your brunch inside, it’s best to set the table the night before.
Enjoy It
By the time your family gathers or your friends arrive, everything will be in place – and all you’ll have to do is relax and enjoy the day.
